11/11/11, 11:11
Yesterday was 11/11/11, once in a lifetime. Fortunately, I caught both 11:11 am and 11:11 pm.

So during the morning, I made a wish for someone and myself. I've made myself so clear, and guess that idea of what I'm gonna do next is really sure in my head now. I guess, that's pretty much to let go and be brave to move on. No more that beacon of light, all alone now, drawing out my new directions and paths to take next. On the other hand, it's actually a good thing. Take it as a learning experience then. Studies wise, it's the same, nothing much about that.

Yep. Yesterday was another memorable day. Join four other councilors (all secondary ones, all girls) to this Spotlight Youth Exchange race. I joined them cos' another person was unable to make it. But, I'm really thankful I managed to seize this opportunity.

We went to lunch and then bus to Temasek Polytechnic to register for the race. Went touring around the schools and saw two other teams from our school. After doing the necessary, we all went to assemble at an open space theatre. Oh anyway, this race is for 13-20++ years old. So we're technically the youngest contestant of all! We got some briefing before starting the race at approximately 6pm. It's kinda late and rush that time as it was during the peak hours. First checkpoint, we had to go to East Coast Park (deduced by the clues given to us). And we kinda were to first to leave, but ended up reaching there like one hour later?! Basically cos' we didn't know which way is the fastest to get there. Yup, we're just 13 man!

At East Coast Park, we had to roller-blade to some beacon to get clues. We spent like some time getting ready with our gears. Gosh, it's super smelly man. Then, Jasmine and I had to somewhat teach the rest how to roller-blade... Cos' they aren't good at it. So, here goes our time. Nevertheless, we managed to get to the beacon and completed the task given, and had to roller-blade back... The distance isn't that far. By the time we went back back, we're the last few teams. At the point of time, we almost gave up while having dinner at MacDonald's. But luckily we continued. Then, we got checkpoint 2 clue, and concluded we have to go to Emmanuel Assembly of God church, cos' that was the nearest in East Coast. But we made a mistake.. It should actually be another church at Geylang. Like what the hell. Before we knew we were wrong, we traveled with another team to Emmanuel Assembly of God with so much troubles. (wrong bus, wrong bus direction, etc).

So when we eventually reached there, some people from church came to us with this blurred face and that instantly told us we've gone to the wrong place. Apparently, those people were quite shocked to see us at their church at around 10pm plus. It's really late and they're about to close. Thank goodness, they're really Samaritans! Such kind souls. They helped us to find our way and finally told us to go to Scape at Orchard. That was the finishing point. Sadly, we only managed completing the first checkpoint. Other checkpoints had actives such as rock-climbing etc. But I guess, we aren't that physically fit to travel around and doesn't have that much knowledge for road directory in Singapore. In the end, we didn't finish it and yeah. Nevertheless, it was the experience that's worthwhile, and the new friends we made and bonding we had that make it meaningful and fruitful. After all, it was an invaluable and priceless experience gained!

After reaching the final checkpoint, our parents came to fetch us somewhere near Scape. While waiting, we took some pictures of the upcoming Christmas decorations. (Looks like the Festival of Lights, Deepavali!)

Here are other random pictures we took during the race. No thought of winning, just wanted to experience how it's like to be in a race. (I guess this is far more easier than Amazing Race!)
